Dangerous Goods by Sea:
Full accept refresher

Purpose

Come along and learn what has changed between the current International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) code and Australian Marine Orders (MO) and the new one.  We remind participants of the IMDG requirements and highlight what will change in the new edition and how they need to be applied.

This course is available to complete in the classroom or as computer based training. It is designed to provide an update in the theory and practical aspects of shipping dangerous goods by sea and provide you with the information you need to ensure your work practices and procedures are in line with the changes.

Content

This course contains information on:

  • General Awareness functions:

  • Classification;

  • Identification,

  • Stowage, handling and segregation;

  • Packing Cargo Transport Units (shipping containers)

  • Initial emergency response

  • AMSA Accept functions:

  • Packing and packaging;

  • Marking, labeling and placarding;

  • Documentation.

 

Course Qualification and Recognition

This course is approved by:

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) – approval number 5264 (5244 Online).

A certificate is issued on successful completion of an end-of-course questionnaire.  The course is based on the upcoming IMDG Code  incorporating all the changes. Under the AMSA training approval system, the qualification is valid until the next IMDG Code becomes mandatory.

Who Should Attend?

Personnel who have completed an AMSA approved, full accept course based on the current IMDG Code.

Course Fee

  • Online: AUD $200.00 + GST $20.00 = $220.00 Total

  • Virtual Classroom: AUD $250.00 + GST $25.00 = $275.00 Total

  • Classroom: AUD $280.00 + GST $28.00 = $303.00 Total

Availability

  • Online training - 6 hours approx.

  • Classroom training - One day course, 8 hours approx.

 

Note: A copy of your previous qualification will be required before enrolment.

 

We can schedule Virtual courses or classroom courses in Adelaide, Brisbane, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth & Sydney at request, but we’ll go (almost) anywhere. (Dependent on number of participants and availability)
