Dangerous Goods by Road
– Not for bulk licenses
Purpose
This course assists organizations transporting dangerous goods by road, and road freight industry personnel, to interpret and apply the Australian Code for the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail. An understanding of the concepts behind the Code will ensure compliance with the law, and protect those who carry dangerous goods.

This course is designed to provide comprehensive training in the theory and practical aspects of shipping dangerous goods by road. Throughout the course, you will examine the code and learn a systematic approach to packaging and documenting a hazardous shipment for road transport. There are plenty of follow-up exercises to reinforce the knowledge acquired and to ensure all Australian regulations are complied with.

Course Qualification and Recognition
A certificate is issued on successful completion of an end-of-course questionnaire.
Currently there is no approval system for DG by Road training apart for a Bulk Dangerous Goods Drivers License.
Drivers of non-bulk goods, contractors, shippers and suppliers of dangerous goods by road have a duty of care and responsibility to be informed about the requirements of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.

The validation period of your qualification is while the current ADG is valid. Therefore you must renew before the new ADG becomes mandatory, which is every two years.

Who Should Attend?
If you are involved with the packaging, documentation or control of hazardous materials for transport by road, then this course is for you.
It’s also ideal for freight forwarders, couriers and consolidators involved with road freight, and anyone involved with transporting dangerous goods by road.

This course is not suitable for drivers transporting dangerous goods in bulk.
​
Note: Customised modules containing specific company procedures, and only accessible by that companies employees, can be created for a one time flat fee.
Level of Competency
No previous knowledge or experience with road transport or dangerous goods is required to complete the course.
