DANGEROUS GOODS BY AIR

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Acceptance – Initial course covering all classes

Shippers, Freight forwarders, Airline Ground handling agents

This course helps people interpret and apply the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR), which are pertinent for both domestic and international air transportation. Full compliance with the Regulations, and an understanding of the concepts behind them, will ensure the safety of all who travel by air and protect shippers and their agents from unknowingly committing unlawful acts regarding dangerous goods.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Refresher – for acceptance trained personnel

This course is suitable for people holding an existing dangerous goods acceptance (initial) and shippers holding qualifications covering all classes of dangerous goods.

You’ll need to complete this course when your Dangerous Goods Acceptance (Initial) qualification is due to expire. This course renews your existing qualification for a further two (2) years. You’ll also learn of changes and new principles adopted by international and Australian authorities since your last course.


Note: This course can only be done if your qualification is still current. It must be completed WITHIN the last three months of your qualification expiring, in order to add an additional two years to your existing expiry date and CANNOT be completed after expiry.


If you let your qualification lapse then you require another initial course.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Awareness – for all awareness categories

This course is appropriate for Pilots, Flight Crew & Load Planners, Cabin Crew, Ramp, Check-in & Warehouse Personnel

Have you been told you need an Awareness? No, it’s not a new age expression – it’s about learning the basics about the safe transportation of dangerous goods by air.

Based on the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, this course covers recognition, handling and stowage of dangerous packages. It also provides an understanding of procedures that will help detect hidden hazards when accepting air freight.

This course will not qualify you to accept, document or package dangerous goods.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Awareness – Ground crew and Warehouse Personnel

This course is appropriate for Aircraft Loading Personnel, Helicopter Landing Officers (HLO), Passenger Check-in Staff, General Air Cargo Acceptance Staff, Security Personnel, Baggage Handling Staff, Warehouse Personnel

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Transportation of Infectious Substance by Air – Category A, B and Exempt

This course is required for people involved with the packaging, documentation or control of infectious materials sent by air.

If you send infectious substances or diagnostic specimens by air, then this is the course for you. This course assists shippers of infectious substances, and associated items, to interpret and apply the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) to shipments being sent by air domestically and internationally. Full compliance with the Regulations and an understanding of the concepts behind them will ensure the safety of all who travel and protect shippers from unknowingly committing unlawful acts

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Transporting UN3373 by Air for Shippers

This  course is suitable for people involved with the packaging, documentation  or control of infectious materials, category B sent by air.

If you send diagnostic specimens or biological products that are category B, or their suspensions (e.g. Liquid nitrogen, formalin or ethanol) by air, then this is the course for you. This course assists shippers of infectious substances - category B, and associated items, to interpret and apply the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations to shipments being sent by air domestically and internationally. Full compliance with the Regulations and an understanding of the concepts behind them will ensure the safety of all who travel and protect shippers from unknowingly committing unlawful acts.


- Courses stay active for 2 years and must be completed within this time frame. Refunds will not be given after the course in no longer active.

Dangerous Goods by Air:
Transporting Batteries by Air (incorporating Lithium and Sodium batteries)

This course is suitable for people involved with the packaging, documentation or control of batteries, with particular focus on lithium batteries, and battery powered equipment being transported by air.

If you send batteries, particularly lithium batteries by air then this is the course for you. This course assists shippers of batteries, including lithium batteries on their own, and in or with equipment, to interpret and apply the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (IATA DGR) to shipments being sent by air domestically and internationally.

Full compliance with the Regulations and an understanding of the concepts behind them, and the associated Australian legislation, will ensure the safety of all who travel and protect shippers from unknowingly committing unlawful acts.

Dangerous Goods by Air:
Lithium Batteries - Instruction for Shipping Small Batteries

This course is suitable for anyone who regularly sends small lithium batteries with or in equipment people or are in control of commercial shipments of batteries, including Lithium batteries, sent by air.

This short course has been designed to assist shippers who are sending lithium batteries in or with equipment that only need to comply with Section II of the IATA Dangerous Goods packing requirements to comply.

 

Full compliance with the Regulations and an understanding of the concepts behind them, and the associated Australian legislation, will ensure the safety of all who travel and protect shippers from unknowingly committing unlawful acts.


Courses stay active for 2 years and must be completed within this time frame. Refunds will not be given after the course in no longer active.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Transporting Flammable Liquids by Air

This course is suitable for people involved with the packaging, documentation or control of flammable liquids sent by air.

If  you send flammable liquids by air then this is the course for you.  This  course assists shippers of flammable liquids to interpret and apply the  International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods  Regulations (DGR) to shipments being sent by air domestically and  internationally.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Aircraft Loading and Restraint Awareness

The course is highly recommended for airline, or airline ground handling personnel involved with the loading of air cargo and passengers baggage into loose cargo holds.

The purpose of the course is to ensure that air cargo is loaded and restrained in loose cargo holds so as to ensure it can be transported by air without risk of damage to itself, other freight or the aircraft.

The course is predominately aimed at the airport ramp staff but is useful for others working on airport. 

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Aircraft ULD - Load Distribution & Restraint

This course is required under IATA Resolution 809 for the staff of air freight forwarders involved with the loading of ULDs. It is also highly recommended for airline, or airline ground handling personnel involved with the loading of ULDs.

The purpose of this course is to ensure that cargo is loaded and restrained, to ensure it can be transported by air without risk of damage to itself, other freight or the aircraft.

Dangerous Goods By Air:
Transporting Dry Ice by Air

The courses are suitable for anyone who is required to ship dry ice by air either as a dangerous good or as a refrigerant. The course does not allow you to ship any other dangerous goods apart from Dry Ice by air.

This short course is designed to satisfy the training requirements of Australian Civil Aviation Safety Regulation CASR 92.085 for Group F employees limited to the shipment of Dry Ice by air.
