International Air Freight - Four day course

Purpose

Ever wondered what happens in the wonderful world of air freight? This course helps newcomers to the industry understand the international rules and regulations governing air freight, and explains how to prepare freight for transport and complete export documentation. As some companies may find it difficult to release staff for prolonged training, the course is available in two modules which can be taken separately, or together as a complete unit.

What you get

You will receive comprehensive training in the theory and practical aspects of international air freight.

The course content is as follows:

Module One - Introduction to Air Freight (Two days)

  • International time zones, unit load device (ULD) identification and aircraft types, using the World Airlines Guides, using and applying the TACT Rules, letters of credit and transport logistics.

Module Two - The Air Waybill (Two days)

  • House Air Waybills versus Master Air Waybills, transportation charges, use and application of the TACT Rates books, air waybill completion, payment of rates and charges, air waybill lodgment, charges collect consignments, net rates and combination rates.

Course Qualification and Recognition
The course is recognized by The International Air Transport Association (IATA) Agency Services in Australia, acting on behalf of the Cargo Executive Council of Australia.

Who Should Attend?
If you are new to the air freight industry, or involved with the processing of customers' import and/or export freight, then this is the course for you.

IATA Accredited Cargo Agents are required to have two people holding this qualification.

Level of Competency
No previous knowledge or experience of air transport is required to complete the course.
